Tutorial Tuesday: Upholstered Headboard

I've been coveting a ton of upholstered headboards from Pinterest lately. Here are a few of my faves.

I've vowed to tackle my own headboard upholstery project using this Upholstered Headboard tutorial from Young House Love:

They make it look super easy, so let's all give it a whirl, shall we?

Tutorial Tuesday (on Wednesday): Succulents For Your Home

Our theme for Friday's Meet 'N' Greet is Gardening so we will be featuring our "Gardening Virgins" & our "Garden To Table" classes, giving everyone a taste of our Main Event in October. I wanted this week's tutorial to tie in, so he tutorial we're sharing today is about using succulents in your home (another element we'll be incorporating at the Meet 'N' Greet). Design Sponge's post about Heat Proof Flowers is the perfect thing to use in this blazing hot summer we've been having here

Tutorial Tuesday: Burlap Letters

Today's Tutorial is from The Virginia House- Burlap Letters!

These would look so fabulous in any room in the house, and for every holiday

The steps are very easy, just hop on over to her blog for the directions! I think the letters would look especially fantastic in a Neutral Baby Nursery like this one:

Tutorial Tuesday- Mirrored Side Table

I have a good friend who asked me a few months ago if she could hire me to decorate her house.

I am NOT an interior decorator.

I AM an idea collector. She likes the feel of my house and the ideas I've diligently collected on Pinterest enough to trust me with giving her house some new life. And I am having the time of my life doing it!

Her house is coming together slowly but surely, and she needs an accent piece to go in her front room. I saw these mirrored side tables on Miss Mustard Seed and fell head over heels in love with them.

Now I am in search for a nightstand to give the mirrored treatment to. If you want to make your own mirrored end table to use in your Living Room or your Bedroom, follow Miss Mustard Seed's Tutorial and "move mountains in your home".  I love that saying.

Tutorial Tuesday: Paper Lollies

Today we're sharing one of the techniques we used in our Hello! Holidays project at the Meet 'n' Greet last Friday.

We made these 4th of July Lollies inspired by these:

Rhonna Farrer shared the video tutorial on her blog last year and I've been making these treasures ever since. They are so charming, don't you think?

Tutorial Tuesday: Cane Back Chair Redo

**Now I didn’t get overly ambitious and document my entire process in redo-ing this thrifted chair, but it was so simple and such few steps, I figure the before and after will do just fine. Also? Pardon the photo quality. I may have just used my cell phone to document…::ehem::

There’s a complete technique, a method if you will, when it comes to thrifting. It takes patience, focus, and a wee bit of adventure and most of all: whimsy. You must have a vision and really take note of some hideous piece of something and its deeply hidden potential.

At our first meet’n’greet event at Urban Picnic this Friday, we will have this darling piece showcased for your viewing pleasure.

Before it was a high gloss finish, minty green with a raggedy hunter green corduroy seat cushion. That? Will just not do.

After a single coat using Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2X in Satin Granite, a half yard of a darling fabric, and my trusty staple gun, I say she’s looking might fine.

Make sure you come out to our fabulous meet’n’greet event this Friday, June 10th from 6p-8p at Urban Picnic. It will be an evening filled with great food, information on our big Fall event, fun swag and a take home project for all attendees. Join us and spread the love!

Tutorial Tuesday (except it's on Thursday this week)

I have been dying to show everyone some of the tutorials I have been collecting and I can't wait any longer. I saw this AH-MAZE-ING shower curtain at Anthropologie and fell head over heels in love.

Clearly I must have this. However, when I told Braden that I needed it he said "I think for $119 you can live without it."

:(

So. Never Fear- Pinterest is here to save the day and show me a tutorial on how to make it! Can I get an AMEN?

Just follow Elle Apparel's directions and sew your own gorgeous ruffley shower curtain! I'm making mine in whites, greys, & blacks for our new master bath.
